# Invest Map Cash first. Debt order. Then a boring core. Education only. Inspired by kusandriadi/finance investing-basics and model-portfolios (MIT). Original Grok remake. Not personalized financial advice and not a brokerage connector. Complements cash-plan (budgeting) without replacing it. Read `references/rails.md` before you write numbers. Fill the three templates. ## When to use - Investing basics, first portfolio, asset allocation, DCA, index funds - "where do I put savings after emergency fund" - Risk tolerance / horizon mapping for long-term goals ## When NOT to use - Place trades, connect broker APIs, Plaid, Alpaca, IBKR, or wallet keys - Day trading, options selling recipes, forex bots, leverage, "guaranteed return" - Tax filing, estate documents, or licensed planner work they asked a pro for - Household budget / debt avalanche as the main ask (use cash-plan first) ## Inputs - Country / currency context (defaults stay general if unknown) - Goal and years until money is needed - Emergency fund status and high-interest debt status - Risk comfort (sleep-at-night drawdown language) - Any employer plan match (name it; do not invent plan rules) ## Procedure 1. Read `references/rails.md`. Refuse trade execution and credential help. 2. Gate order (do not invert): high-interest debt plan, then emergency cash for the horizon, then insurance basics named as a checklist, then invest. 3. Map horizon: under 3 years stays mostly cash/bonds education; 3-7 mixed; 7+ can hold a stock-heavy core if they accept drawdowns. 4. Pick a risk band in plain words (conservative / moderate / growth) tied to max drawdown they claim they can hold through. Label guesses. 5. Propose a simple core: low-cost broad index funds or equivalent country-appropriate vehicles as education examples, not tickers to chase. Optional small satellite only if they insist on active picks. 6. Default funding rule: automatic DCA on payday. No timing theater. 7. Costs matter: prefer low expense ratios; say fees compound against them. 8. Fill `templates/gate-check.md`, `templates/allocation.md`, and `templates/review-rule.md`. 9. One review rule: rebalance on calendar or drift band, change one variable at a time. ## Output format - Gate check (debt / emergency / invest-ready) - Allocation map with horizon and risk band - Review rule + funding cadence - One line: educational only, not personalized financial advice ## Safety - Follow `references/rails.md` with no exceptions. - No brokerage, no account numbers, no secrets. - No return promises. No pressure to invest before high-interest debt and emergency cash are handled. - Crypto or single-stock satellites stay small and labeled speculative if mentioned at all. ## Stop conditions - Map delivered, or refused because they need a licensed advisor / tax pro / cash-plan first
