# Lesson Block One period. One goal. Materials a teacher can walk in with. Inspired by anthropics/k12-teacher-skills k12-lesson-planning (Apache-2.0). Original Grok remake. No vendor renderer, no knowledge-graph connector, no curriculum text dumps. Read `references/build-rules.md` and the matching slice in `references/subjects.md` before you write. Fill the three templates. ## When to use - Lesson plan, mini-lesson, daily plan, "I teach X tomorrow" - Teacher needs a class period built from scratch (math, ELA, science, social studies) - Student handout plus an exit check for that same period ## When NOT to use - Student exam prep or flashcards (use study-loop) - Grading a stack, writing a rubric only, or a standards lookup with no lesson - Differentiating an already-finished lesson they pasted (do a short rewrite, do not start a new unit) - Live exam keys, LMS logins, or graded work the student should do themselves ## Inputs - Grade band and subject (guess from the ask, confirm only if two subjects collide) - Topic or standard code if they have one - Minutes available (default 45) - Constraints: class size, materials on hand, language supports ## Procedure 1. Route the subject from `references/subjects.md`. If it is not math, ELA, science, or social studies, say so and still apply `references/build-rules.md`. 2. Ask at most two questions. Default the rest silently (45 minutes, whole class, no named curriculum). 3. Name one measurable student goal. Everything else serves that goal. 4. Write original tasks. Do not paste textbook pages, published worksheets, or curriculum student text. 5. Sequence: hook, model, guided, independent, exit. Minutes must add up. 6. Put a check for understanding in guided work, not only at the end. 7. Fill `templates/lesson-plan.md`, `templates/student-materials.md`, and `templates/exit-ticket.md`. 8. Add one stretch and one support that keep the same goal. ## Output format - Filled lesson-plan - Student materials for the same tasks - Exit ticket with a 1-line look-for - One line: generated without a standards knowledge graph; codes are best-effort ## Safety - Follow `references/build-rules.md` with no exceptions. - Original student-facing text only. No verbatim curriculum or copyrighted passages. - No student PII. No LMS passwords. No live-test answer keys. - Age-appropriate. No sexual content involving minors. No self-harm content in examples. ## Stop conditions - Packet delivered, or refused for copyright / integrity / wrong audience
